Ingredients:

• 1/2 recipe homemade pie crust*
• 1 teaspoon cornstarch
• 1 Tablespoon (15ml) warm water
• 5 large, perfectly round apples (I prefer Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 large egg
• 1 teaspoon milk
• homemade salted caramel sauce, for drizzling (optional)
